General
Protecting your personal data is important to us. This privacy policy explains which data we process when you visit our website and when you contact us, why we do so, and what rights you have.
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in individual cases, we also comply with it.
Visiting the website
When you access our website, our hosting provider automatically stores technical information in so-called server log files:
- IP address of the accessing device
- Date and time of access
- page or file accessed
- Browser type, browser version and operating system
- Website from which you reached us (referrer)
We need this data to operate the website securely and reliably. We do not combine it with other data and only analyse it if there are indications of misuse.
Forms
When you write to us using one of our forms – contact form, support request, registration for a hedgehog course or order for information material –, we process the details you provide, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, your message and, for support requests, any attachment. We use them only to respond to your enquiry, process your order or registration and clarify any questions.
Your details are sent to us by e-mail and are also stored securely on the server of our website so that no enquiry is lost. You receive an automatic confirmation at the e-mail address you provided. To protect against spam, we keep your IP address in encrypted form for a maximum of 15 minutes. We do not use services such as Google reCAPTCHA.
We do not pass this data on without your consent. The information is transmitted via an encrypted connection.
Contact by email or telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, we likewise process the information you give us solely for the purpose of handling your enquiry.
Donations via RaiseNow
We process donations via the platform of RaiseNow AG in Zurich. The donation form opens in a window on our website but is provided by RaiseNow. Your details such as name, address, email address, amount and payment method go directly to RaiseNow and to the payment provider you choose, for example TWINT, PostFinance or a credit card company.
We receive the information we need to record your donation, thank you and issue a donation receipt. We do not see your payment details such as card numbers. You can find out more in the RaiseNow privacy policy.
Google Maps
On our contact page, we use Google Maps to show where the hedgehog station is located. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When the map loads, your browser transmits your IP address, among other things, to Google. Google may set cookies and also transfer data to the USA.
You can find out more in the Google privacy policy.
Map of the regional knowledge platforms
On the “Regional knowledge platforms” page, we show a map from OpenStreetMap. The map images are loaded from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. In doing so, your browser transmits your IP address, among other things, to these servers. No cookies are set. You can find out more in the privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.
Media reports and videos
On the “Documents and media” page, you can watch reports by SRF and other media directly on our site. The player is only loaded when you click on a report. Your browser then connects to the server of the respective provider, for example SRF or Kaltura, and transmits your IP address, among other things. This data is subject to the privacy policy of the respective provider.
Fonts and software libraries
Fonts and program libraries, for example for animations, are stored on the server of our website. Loading them does not transmit any data to third parties.
Cookies and statistics
We do not set any cookies ourselves and do not use any services for visitor statistics or advertising. The third-party providers mentioned above, namely Google Maps, RaiseNow and the video players, may set their own cookies when loading their content. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. In that case, some content may not work.
Links to other websites
Our website contains links to other websites, for example to our shop on Rico or to media reports. The operators of these websites are solely responsible for the processing of personal data on them.
Disclosure abroad
Some third-party providers such as Google may also process data in countries that do not offer a level of data protection equivalent to that of Switzerland, in particular the USA. From a Swiss perspective, the United Kingdom (OpenStreetMap) offers an adequate level of data protection. In the other cases, the providers rely on recognised safeguards such as the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses.
Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations. After that, we delete or anonymise it.
Data security
Our website is encrypted with SSL/TLS. You can recognise this by “https://” and the padlock symbol in your browser’s address bar. We also take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. Nobody can guarantee completely secure transmission over the internet, for example by email.
Your rights
Under data protection law, you have in particular the right:
- to request information as to whether and which personal data we process about you
- to have incorrect data corrected
- to request the deletion of your data
- to object to the processing and to withdraw any consent you have given
- to receive your data in a common electronic format
To do so, please contact info@igel-hilfe.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Eidgenössischer Datenschutz- und Öffentlichkeitsbeauftragter (EDÖB).
Changes
We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version currently published on this website applies.
